Summer beach sessions- 2011

This is about the time of year that people start asking me about my summer beach sessions. Every summer I plan about a week when I will be in Morro Bay and will be available for sessions in the Central Coast area. We go everywhere from Cambria, to Cayucos, San Luis, Avila, Pismo & Arroyo Grande. There are so many fun little niches over there that make for great photo opportunities.We like to have fun and play with the kids and families while we are there. We know that kids will be kids, so let’s just have some fun while we capture the memories of all of you together.

At this point, I know that I will definitely be there July 9-16. There may be additional dates that become available. Or if you are planning a trip on a different date and want to see if we are available, please let me know and we will see if we can make it work.

Spring is here

Well, it is official. Spring is here. It is beautiful outside. The birds are chirping and the kids officially have spring fever. This time of year makes me want to rush outside and capture all of the beautiful new flowers and grasses that pop up everywhere. There are still a few weeks left before we lose all of the wildflowers nearby. Thank goodness for a few more weeks of beauty before the summer heat!

Fall is in the air

Well, the weather is finally cooler and it is actually feels like this might be the beginning of fall. I absolutely love the cooler weather and all of the lovely things that come with it: throwing on a sweatshirt, hot apple cider, snuggling under the blankets, beautiful colors all over nature. And for me, one of the biggest things that comes with fall is family portraits. The weather is cooler, which makes getting images of your family relaxed and having a great time together, so much nicer than in the crazy heat!! Now is the perfect time to start thinking about your family portrait. There are many fun location options to make your photo feel uniquely and perfectly you. Parks, downtown, barns, fields, orchards, train tracks, you name it.

Available weekend session dates- regular sessions:
Saturday, November 20 & Sunday, November 21
Saturday, November 27 & Sunday, November 28

Weekend sessions are limited, but we have many weekday sessions available.

We do have a few limited sessions available for the Olive Drive Elementary Fundraiser. The sessions are shorter & are only 20 minutes long, but the session fee is only $40 with $20 going to benefit the school. There are a few sessions available on:

Saturday, October 9 in the afternoon
Sunday, October 10 in the afternoon
Saturday, October 23 in the afternoon

Blogging Inept

So, it appears that I am officially blogging inept. Many people have said to me recently, oh I guess you haven’t been working this year because we haven’t seen any changes on your blog. So if you are patient enough come on over & check things out. I still have on my list of life’s hopes to be a better blogger, but between phone calls, emails, texts, Facebook posts & the rest of the many ways that we communicate these days, I have just failed as a blogger. Please forgive me.

Here are a couple of images from some recent weddings we have done this year. It has been a great year of beautiful, lovely couples.

Stacy & Kyle got married in Palm Desert. While there, we found the most lovely Rolls Royce golf cart that was decorated for Valentine’s Day and the owner let us play with the cart and the bride & groom. What a treat.

Renee & Collin got married at Ragged Point. It was one of the most lovely, intimate ceremonies that we have been part of. Just 20 people on the edge of a cliff watching their sweet nuptials.What a delight!

Renee & Allen had been together for 10 years, so to watch them tie the knot was such a joy for everyone present. They were both filled with the most lovely smiles. It was contagious.

Jennifer & Jack had a fun wedding party filled with some of the coolest cars around. Each couple drove from the ceremony to the reception in a different vintage muscle car. We had a blast playing with them. I was even hanging out from the top of the sunroof as we were driving around town just to get some shots. Wow! Crazy!!

Callie & John got married at Stockdale Country Club, which is one of our most favorite places to get to photograph weddings. We had so much fun with Callie & John as we traversed the landscape and laughed the entire time. What a great day!

Ally & Jayson were beyond elated when we surprised them and brought our yellow couch out on their wedding day. It was our hottest wedding day of the year so far and even though we were all sweating like crazy, they never complained about the heat even when they were smack dab in the sun squinting like crazy. We got some playful & fun images and had a fantastic day too!

2010

Wow! 2010 is here and in full swing. I can’t quite fathom this. I am going to attempt to do a post on my favorite images of 2009. Watch for that soon. I have found that I almost completely collapse in January from all of the chaos in the fall. I guess it helps me gear up for the new year or crash from the previous one. I still am not quite sure. But we are going to try to get back on track soon. We have a great wedding coming up in Palm Springs that we are super excited about. Congratulations to Stacy & Kyle. It is going to be a blast.

Shea & Todd

We met Shea & Todd a few years ago before they were engaged. So, the whole process of getting to be a part of their wedding was so fun for us. They are a fun couple when they are together and they have friends that love to laugh and have a good time too. We got to play with them all around Seven Oaks. Even with a bit of a sprinkler surprise, we still managed to have a great day that lasted well into the night.

Chelsea & John Wedding

I first heard about Chelsea & John at another wedding. Even before I met them, I knew that I was going to love them. Of course, I did. They are so cute together. I loved how John could just pick Chelsea up at a moments notice. John even dipped Chelsea right after the ceremony & I am pretty sure he did it just for me. They also had such a hilarious bridal party. Ryan even called me before I met the groomsmen to tell me how funny they were. And, let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Those guys had me laughing the entire day.

One of my unexpected favorite things of the day were Chelsea’s most adorable shoes. They looked so cute with her bright colored flowers. I couldn’t stop shooting them. So fun!! The other treat of the day was that the girls got ready at The Little White Dress Shop. It is so fun in there & Jenny was absolutely fantastic to work with. All in all, it was a fantastic day.

Heather & Chris

Heather  & Chris are just super cute. We had so much fun with them on their wedding day. They wanted to have their first meeting on their wedding day at the place that they met for the first time. I loved that. It was so special to watch them share in their moment in this place. I will never eat at Sequoia without thinking of the two of them. They have the most fun personalities and had a great group of friends. They danced and played all night long. Here are a few shots from their wedding. The rest of them will be up on the website next week.

Lesley & Lucas

 

Lesley and Lucas got married on what might have been the hottest day of the year, so far. But they didn’t complain one bit. We were all a bit toasty and yet we managed to laugh and joke the whole day. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting them and their families. They both came from these large families, which always makes for such fun on the wedding day. There was so much love surrounding all of them. We were so fortunate to be a part of it all.

 

 

 

Meghan and Kyle Engagement

So, you all know I am not very faithful about posting images from portrait and engagement sessions. I try, but I am always behind. I just felt like I had to post some images from this engagement session that we just did with Meghan and Kyle. 

First, let me tell you about Meghan & Kyle. I heart them.

I have known Meghan for years and we were both bridesmaids in my sister’s wedding. Well really she was still a maid, I was already a matron, but who keeps track of that stuff anyway. We had so much fun together, laughing & giggling. We both have this crazy curly hair that not very many people in the world really understand. I also really love Meghan’s mom, Carolyn. I have heard about Kyle since they were dating. Back when we would call him, :Kyyylleeee”. She was smitten. And why not, Kyle is just the most adorable thing since, well okay, my husband. But he is way up there in terms of the great guys of the world list.

So, now here we are. They are engaged and just completely sweet. I have been so excited about them getting married since the day he proposed on the side of the road. Okay, not really he proposed at a Dodger game, but I still have to tease her about a silly picture they took. So, our engagement session was a bit abnormal. We went all over the place and ran into lots of celebrities. We would shoot, then snack, then drive, then shoot, and on and on. 

Of course, Kyle wanted to have his pictures taken in the busiest areas of town so that everyone could see him, but Meghan was really reserved. Oh wait, that is totally wrong. Then we got yelled at and then some by our now friend, Jimiray V.T. But the good news is, that if their wedding venue falls through, she offered to let them get married on her front porch. The downfall is that no one would be able to park on the property without a good old-fashioned cussing!

Thanks for all of the fun! We had so much fun and can hardly wait until your wedding day. I wonder who will yell at us then? I am excited to find out.
